Public Health expert with a PhD from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. Additionally, she holds a Master’s degree in Parasitology from the same institution. In 2016, she spent time as a visiting student at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).
Throughout her career, she has been involved in collaborative projects between Brazil and the UK, concentrating on the use of administrative data and data linkage to study health inequalities and the effects of social protection policies on health outcomes. She has also established a strong presence in Brazil, where she serves as an associated researcher at the Centre for Data and Knowledge Integration for Health (CIDACS), part of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz, Brazil).
Currently, she teaches various courses at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. She is the Co-Module Organizer for STEPH and supervises MSc and PhD students. Her research interests focus on understanding how poverty, vulnerability, and deprived living conditions—key social determinants of health—affect disease risk and how these issues can be addressed through social policy.
