Jovita Ortiz

Associate Professor with a Master’s Degree in Reproductive Health from the University of Concepción, Chile, and a specialist in Perinatology.

She has extensive experience in maternal health initiatives across Latin America, notably serving as the coordinator of the Latin American Maternal Health Project (2018). Jovita has also acted as a consultant on Sexual and Reproductive Health for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and is a researcher involved in several Health Research and Development Projects (FONIS).

Currently, she is the Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Department of Women’s and Newborn Health Promotion (DPSMRN) at the University of Chile, serves on Chile’s Technical Guidance Committee on childbirth care, and directs perinatology diploma programs.
