Ietza Bojórquez

Doctor in Epidemiology from the National Institute of Public Health and is currently a professor-researcher at El Colegio de la Frontera Norte, affiliated with the Population Studies Department.

Among her projects, she has explored the responses of civil society organizations to the COVID-19 pandemic, migration patterns of U.S. agricultural workers during the pandemic, and the development of community models to improve mental health services for migrants.
Since 2004, Bojorquez has conducted research on migration and health, with a focus on mental health, public health policies, and migrants access to healthcare services. Over the past decade, she has led numerous projects on the mental health of Mexican migrants deported from the U.S., migrant flows through Mexico, and Venezuelan migrants in Colombia.

Her research integrates social medicine, social epidemiology, and the social determinants of health, using quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methodologies, as well as comparative policy analysis.
