Medical Doctor from the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos, with a Master of Science specializing in Health Systems from the National Institute of Public Health (INSP), and a PhD in Philosophy from the Institute of Education at the University of London, England.
Since 2000, he has been dedicated to research in key areas such as migration and health, HIV/AIDS, and human rights, focusing on vulnerable populations. He is a researcher at the Health Systems Research Center of INSP and, since 2010, has been part of Mexico’s National System of Researchers. Additionally, he serves as the Deputy Coordinator of the Migration and Health Studies Unit (UMyS) at INSP, promoting initiatives that address the challenges of the relationship between migration and health in the Americas.
Since 2020, he has been an active collaborator in the Research Network on Food, Migration, Environment, and Health (AMAS) and the Technical Assistance Group on Migration and Health (GAMyS).
