Advisory board member

Nurse-midwife with a Master’s Degree in Epidemiology and a PhD in Health Sciences, specializing in social epidemiology from the University of York, UK.

She is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of the Social Studies in Health Program at the University of Development (UDD) in Chile, as well as a Visiting Professor at the University of York. She also leads the Centre for Global Intercultural Health at UDD’s Faculties of Medicine and Psychology, and serves as the Director of the WHO Collaborating Center on Capacity Building for Training and Research in the Health of Migrants and Refugees.

Cabieses coordinates the Chilean Network for Health and Migration Research (RECHISAM) and is a member of the Andean Health and Migration Network (SAMI). Her research focuses on social inequities in health, particularly the health of international migrants and patient participation. In 2017, she was awarded the Santander El Mercurio National Research Award for her work on migrant health.
